I don't know whether you guys have heard about the 1/7 Canada National Day?
yes, its on the same day as HK establishment day!
and each year, there is a celebration at Lan Kwai Fong on the day before (30/6)

i think mainly because they can easily separate the two big events.
I have never celebrated Canada Day before, as I always spend my summer in Hong Kong...

but I would love to celebrate it in Canada the other day if I plan to stay.
My friends told me, in Canada, there are uaually different celebration events happening, differ from province to province; city to city. Big cities usually celebrate this important day for at least a whole week. There are fireworks of course, live concerts, games, parades, etc. People mostly dressed up in "Canadian" style, red and white. It's just so much fun! If you have a chance, go visit Canada during the summer (always the best time since the winter is so chilling), and experience the incredible Canadian culture! (you can also go get a salmon..lol its my favourite! hehe)
ok...back to the one in Hong Kong...well I only went through the whole street (without drinking) since I had to go for supper with my family afterwards...haha This event is officially named"Canada D'eh!" (reason: "eh" - invented by Canadians, I didnt know about this til last week even I used it all the time in my conversation! lol) It started at 6:30, surprisingly there were already people having fun in the street and enjoying a large cup of Canadian beer. well...even I live in Canada, I can't really distinguish Canadians without talking to them...so I can't really tell how many Canadians are there...haha but there are people wearing tall while hats distributed by the bars (maybe thats the symbol!!! :O) and there were booths giving out free fake tattoos with Canadian flag ( I got one), stickers (they wanna give me more even I had got one already lol) and some giving out Canadian souvenirs...and maybe some information about this event.
There are some performances for sure, some hotties dancing around. It's pretty interesting, you can go check it out next year and try a can of the famous Canadian beer (well although I don't really like beer personally, but its been bery popular in Canada) and meet a Canadian girl/guy! hahaa
xoxoxo
